This Week - "Waking Ned Devine" and the M50 Crosstown Bus
Welcome! You've arrived at the home of the "3 Sentence Movie, TV & Video Review." Why waste time reading reviews of what's playing that are longer than what you're thinking of seeing? Here you'll find my opinion on what's new in movie theaters, on television and what's out on video -- both old and new. Once in a while, I'll also review something out of the ordinary, like the country Turkey, or, the crosstown bus.
As always, I want to hear what you think. So tell me if you agree or disagree with my take on things. And, above all, keep a sense of humor AND enjoy the show!!

Waking Ned Devine
I must have a soft spot for these Irish movies, like the Jeanine Garafolo movie filmed there around three years ago, called "The Matchmaker," since I really got a kick out of this light-hearted, breezy comedy. When one of the town's elders learns that their friend Ned has passed away from the excitement of winning the Irish lotto, the whole town sets out to fool the big city lotto man from Dublin into believing Ned is alive and well (at least enough so to collect his winnings and distribute them equally amongst everyone in the town)....dare I say this film is "charming," when, in fact, that's the best word for it? Take a break from all of life's hustle and bustle, spend some time with the residents of Tully More, including the very funny Jackie O'Shea (IAN BANNEN from 'Braveheart') and the very naked Michael O'Sullivan (DAVID KELLY, from "Fawlty Towers")....I promise you'll walk away with a smile on your face!

The M50 Crosstown Bus
This bus rocks! Now that construction causes it to begin and end its run on 42nd Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues, then take its normal route along 49th or 50th Streets, this bus has become one of the most convenient bargains in the City. No more transfers needed -- it takes you uptown (or downtown) then across town -- and, yesterday, because the farebox wasn't working, we all rode for free.....man, it doesn't get better than that!
